I interviewed Brian Garfield for the article. Very good guy. And a good storyteller. Apparently, he wrote the original 1972 "Death Wish" in two weeks, in an apartment he and some friends kept specifically for poker games. I believe the address is the same that's given for the Bronson family's residence in the movie.
